Yesterday, I was playing with Jack in our living room and could hear a lawn mower outside, but didn't think anything of it. All of a sudden, it sounded like a gun had been fired as something hit our house. I jumped up and ran to the front door and stepped outside onto our front step. A guy on a riding lawn mower was mowing the church yard across the street from our house. I looked at our windows and didn't see any damage, but called Craig to tell him what had happened, sure that this is what happened a couple weeks ago. We had been calling the church to see if we could find out who mowed for them. No one had returned our calls.
Last night when Craig got home, he looked at the front of the house to see if our siding had been dented. He did not find any dents, but instead, the upstairs window in Jack's room is now broken too!!! I ran up to look at it and saw that the storm window and inside window are broken. Craig called the pastor at home as no one has returned any of our calls. Craig explained the situation, and the pastor's response was, "Well what would you like me to do?" Craig said, "For starters, how about having your maintenance man turn the mower around so that anything that is shot out is not aimed at our homes." The pastor agreed this was a good idea. I guess the pastor called Craig back today and said they are putting a new guard on the mower and will pay for our windows.
