Some of Our Roses

I don't have a green thumb, but am trying to learn. I wish our budget would allow what I'd really like to see in our yard. We have a few flowers in bloom right now.

Should Have Known

We should have known that our plans for Craig's vacation would not go as we had planned or as we would have liked. Things just never go smoothly around here. Craig was hoping to have a shed built in our yard by today. He just got started today. Other things on our list will be put on hold until later. We are enjoying our time together with Jack!

6:45

6:45 is a great time to go to Wal-Mart. After I walked this morning, I ran to get baby food, toilet paper, and laundry soap. The parking lot only had a few cars, the aisles were empty, it was quiet, and the best part was that I didn't have to wait in line! I was in and out in about ten minutes. :)

Rest, Relaxation, and Fun

We had a fun Memorial Day with friends. The kids are so cute playing together. Kimmy is such a big girl and helps watch the younger two. We went fishing, threw knives and barbequed. Craig is on vacation all week and we hope to accomplish several home improvement projects as well as spending time together and enjoying our family!

Paper

Jack loves paper. He grabs for the newspaper, magazines, the paper on the table in the doctor's office, napkins, you name it, he loves the "crinkly" noise.

Just Give Me....

the baby lotion and vaseline off the changing table and I will be very happy! :)

Time

I am really trying to use my time more wisely. I haven't posted for a while because I am trying to keep up with a schedule at home. Blogging is not a waste of my time at all. In fact, it is a great way for me to stay motivated and on track. Just trying to balance. :)

9 Months On....7 1/2 Off

I debated about posting this because it is kind of embarassing, but today is a milestone for me. As of today, I have lost all of the weight I gained during pregnancy. I gained a lot more than I wanted to. It didn't seem to matter if I was really careful each month or gave in to my cravings, I gained about the same amount each month. I lost about twenty pounds just having Jack and then maybe five when I started nursing him. I have had to work off the rest. I have a long way to go. This brightened my day. I have been in a funk lately. I've just felt overwhelmed with being a mommy, trying to keep the house in order, being a good wife and being the kind of person I want to be. My house is the dirtiest it has ever been right now. Between taking care of Jack and exercising, I just haven't had time or the energy to stay on top of it like I want to. Today I was reminded that it is so worth it! Now on to my next goal. I want to be a healthy mommy!

Playing at Grandma's

It is fun to watch Jack play with some of the same toys that my brother and I played with at grandma's house.

Buddies

Jack and Harrison are so cute together. Harrison is a month older than Jack and now mobile. Harrison is constantly on the go and Jack is very laid back. Jack usually just stares at Harrison as he crawls around him. It will be so much fun when Jack can crawl after him too. We've had some outings together lately to Pizza Ranch, and the new fountain at the Riverfront. Yesterday, the fountain wasn't on and we ended up at the Gubser pool. What cuties!

My First Mother's Day

What a great day! This has been a wonderful 7 months! It has been harder than I thought it would be but also amazing in so many ways. I love this little person so much! I love being Jack's mommy!

New Things Every Day

Just in the last couple days, Jack has been rolling more. He will roll from his back to his tummy to reach toys. Then he will play on his tummy for a while. When I saw him the first time, I squeeled because I was so excited for him. He knew he had done something new and exciting. He smiled really big too. It is so much fun!

Cheap Entertainment

The other day I sat Jack on the couch with some toys while I cleaned out the diaper bag. Even with all the toys around him, he just wanted to chew on the rubber on his shoe. It kept him entertained for quite a while.

Are You Kidding Me?!!!

Yesterday, I was playing with Jack in our living room and could hear a lawn mower outside, but didn't think anything of it. All of a sudden, it sounded like a gun had been fired as something hit our house. I jumped up and ran to the front door and stepped outside onto our front step. A guy on a riding lawn mower was mowing the church yard across the street from our house. I looked at our windows and didn't see any damage, but called Craig to tell him what had happened, sure that this is what happened a couple weeks ago. We had been calling the church to see if we could find out who mowed for them. No one had returned our calls.

Last night when Craig got home, he looked at the front of the house to see if our siding had been dented. He did not find any dents, but instead, the upstairs window in Jack's room is now broken too!!! I ran up to look at it and saw that the storm window and inside window are broken. Craig called the pastor at home as no one has returned any of our calls. Craig explained the situation, and the pastor's response was, "Well what would you like me to do?" Craig said, "For starters, how about having your maintenance man turn the mower around so that anything that is shot out is not aimed at our homes." The pastor agreed this was a good idea. I guess the pastor called Craig back today and said they are putting a new guard on the mower and will pay for our windows.
