OK...

I have to say publicly that Craig was right. I should have called Dr. A. I wasn't being stubborn, I just didn't think that my symptoms were as bad as others on our Guatemala team. After talking to my friend, Amy, I do have some of the same symptoms that are a result of having E-Coli in my system. I will be calling the doctor. (I do feel better today, but I guess it can come in waves.)

Our Little Chicken

Jack and I have been reading a lot of books lately. He seems to have a little cabin fever and can get kind of wound up when left to play alone. Sitting on the floor and reading together seems to help. (Spring can't come soon enough!) This morning we were reading "Moo, Baa, La, La, La," one of his favorite books. It goes through several animals and what they say. The last line of the book is,"It's quiet now, what do you say?" Jack's answer: "Bawk, bawk!" I think we're stuck on chickens. Bawk, bawk is an answer for almost everything. :)

Sledding For The First Time

We got Jack a sled at Menards after Christmas, but haven't taken him out due to the frigid weather all winter. Saturday was beautiful. We finally got to take him out and sled in our yard. He loved it! When we had to go in for lunch, he cried and cried and just stood at the back door.

Cuddly

Jack had shots on Friday. His little legs were very sore. He didn't want to stand up. He sat on my lap and cuddled all afternoon and evening. I know he didn't feel well, but I enjoyed our cuddle time.

Not Myself

I'm not as sick as many of the other Guatemala team, but I definitely don't feel like myself. I'm getting frustrated. I am just soooo tired!!! I feel really nauseous a lot of the time too (usually after eating). Craig wants me to call Dr. A from our team, but I don't have the symptoms he explained in his email so I haven't called yet. I may call today if I don't start to feel better.

Jack and His Fanny Pack

When I was packing for Guatemala, Craig offered a fanny pack. I'm not a fan. I used my "Eddie Bauer Guide Bag," instead. Jack loves the fanny pack and storing all his special treasures inside.

Bling Bling

Jack found some of grandma's old necklaces that we had here. He has loved wearing them lately. He keeps them in his toolbox. :)

Home

I am home. Our last flight from Atlanta to Cedar Rapids was delayed several times. We finally flew into Cedar Rapids close to 10:30 Saturday night. By the time we arrived at home it was about 12:30. It was an amazing trip. I will be processing, remembering, and thanking God for a long time. I will post more later as I have some pictures.

Our internet has not been working the past couple days. I am at my grandma's at the moment, in between trying to run last minute errands to get ready to go to Guatemala. My goal was to be packed last night so I could enjoy the evening tonight with Jack and Craig. I should have known better by now. My plans are never the way it works. Jack had a bug two nights ago. I had the bug yesterday and we were snowed in. All that to say, I am behind, and running like crazy to get things done and in order for Craig so that I can be gone for a week. What gets done gets done and what doesn't will just wait. I have pictures of Jack but may have to wait until I am back to post them. Buenos Dias!

Countdown

Well, all the dental, medical, construction, and swing team supplies are packed and ready for Guatemala! I wish I had taken my camera. It really is amazing how they have it organized and know exactly what we will need, how it all gets packed, organized and labled and then put into army duffle bags. Our team all took the first of our malaria meds this morning too. Now I just have to get myself packed. I'm excited, nervous and dreading saying goodbye to Jack. It's hard to believe that a week from today we will be in Tikal!

Another Picture

Grandpa and Grandma want more pictures. It is, of course, our pleasure to oblige.

Miss Kitty

Miss Kitty had been asleep for several days (we didn't have the right batteries on hand.) She woke up yesterday and Jack hasn't let her rest :) He carries her around the house and even sat her up on the piano bench this morning and played her a tune.
