We Braved The Weather

Jack and I met Amy and Harrison to walk this afternoon at the mall. We bundled up as much as we could. We are back home and plan on staying here!!!

Frequent Conversation Lately

Mommy: "Jack, does chicken sound good for lunch?"

Jack: nodding yes, "Bawk,bawk!"

Ugh!

Back to the "If Money Were No Object," thing some of you were posting a while ago...I would not give flute and piano lessons, or else be EXTREMELY picky about who I accepted. Just VERY frustrated today!!! ( had to vent a little)

Bargains

A lot of you had shared your exciting finds at JC Penny, so I went to check it out yesterday. I came home with a huge bag filled with about 7 outfits and 3 coats for Jack for less than $30!!! The clothes are for this coming spring and next fall. Most of the shirts and pants were $.98! I got a lighter weight coat for spring, the next size for next fall and a winter coat for next year. That's exciting!

Jack and His Music

Jack loves music. Today I put some headphones on him and he listened so intently for quite a while. At one point he did a little dancing.

Same ol', Same ol'

I don't really have anything blog-worthy to report today. Jack and I have been staying inside a lot with this frigid weather. I'd say he is back to being 100% himself. Hopefully, we can keep it that way. I am trying to get organized and ready for our trip to Guatemala which is fast approaching. I am stressing about what to pack. I hate packing anyway, let alone for a trip to somewhere I have never been and doing things I've never done. I want to pack light. That is a challenge for me.

Yesterday

Yesterday I went to Iowa City to meet some friends for late lunch/early supper. We always have a good time. I had been waiting until we got together to go shopping with my/Jack's Christmas money. I had something I needed to get for him and I wanted to get new tennis shoes. I thought I could run into the mall, find what I needed, get out and meet my friends. I did allow about 1 1/2 hours. The mall was crazy!!! You would have thought it was Christmas Eve. I guess the cold drove everyone to the mall. It was not enjoyable for me at all. I did find a pair of shoes I liked, and waited and waited for someone to help me. I finally gave up. It really felt like a lot of time wasted. I could have been doing something at home and left to meet my friends later. Oh well. Today I have been looking at shoes online. I had a great time with my friends.

It feels good to have all my groceries already bought, organized and put away. It is so nice to have qutie a bit of food on hand. Why is it though, that after I get it all put away in the fridge and cupboards, it doesn't look like near as much food as when it was in the cart or when I was carrying in the bags from the car?

Oh

In regard to the previous post, I was so excited about Jack's creativity...until Craig informed me that he and Jack were making diaper hats the night before. He didn't figure this out on his own. Still very cute!

Preparing For The Frigid Weekend

When I went to check on Jack and see what he might be into I found him with a new package of diapers emptied on the floor and one he was using to keep his ears warm...I think.

Another First

Last night we made our first trip to the emergency room with Jack. He has had a cold for the last five days or so and it was getting worse instead of better. Saturday night, I was up with him in the night every hour or so. He would start coughing, couldn't stop and would start gagging. Yesterday, he couldn't sleep for naps and just looked miserable. He wimpered or cried all day. Early last night, he sounded like he was having trouble breathing so we took him in. The doctor that saw him thought he probably has RSV, so they gave him a breathing treatment and some medicine. Once we got him to sleep last night, he slept well and seems to be doing much better today. We hope he continues to improve all week!

So Observant

I am constantly amazed at the things Jack picks up from watching us. Yesterday, I found him in the kitchen with a couple empty drink cups he had taken out of the trash trying to drink out of them. (They were on the top, so it wasn't too disgusting that he had taken them out of the trash :)

Smiley

It is always easy to get a smile out of Jack. Today he has a terrible head cold and will still give us big cheesy grins!

Sigh.....

I have spent the last two hours trying to figure out how to put songs on my MP3 player. This is what I decided to buy with my Christmas money. I am recommitting to getting up early every morning to go the gym before Craig has to leave for work. I am also going to get new tennis shoes with the remaining Christmas money. Anyway, since I bought the player today, I just had to get songs on it that would motivate me to jump out of bed in the morning and get going. Well, now it is 11:30 and I am so frustrated not to mention that Craig is frustrated with me. I just don't have patience with technology. I think I have some songs loaded. The only thing is now it's pretty late for me. I require quite a bit of sleep and 6 hours might not do it. We'll see what happens in the morning.

Happy New Year !!!

I have been waiting to post because I wanted to change my blog! I am still trying to come up with a new title that I like. I asked Craig to help me and of course, his suggestions were very creative. I asked him to give me two things that are very different but when mixed together, work well or created something only God could orchestrate. His suggestion was, and I quote, "beer and tomato juice." Well, that won't be the title for our blog. I'll keep thinking :)
