So Many New Things

Jack decided that he wanted to hold his own bottle today!

Jumping

Jack is just starting to figure out the Johnny Jumper. For a long time, he just sat in it and gummed on the tray. Yesterday and today he has jumped a few times. The only place in the house that is safe for him and that will hold the jumper is between our four season room and the living room. It has finally been warm enough to have the doors open so that he can practice.

Still Chasing My Tail

I don't feel like I get much done at all. I would love for all of my house to be in some kind of order all at the same time. Just as I am getting the upstairs wipped into shape the downstairs falls apart and visa versa. I have been using my Crock-Pot more lately which has been helpful. I am trying to balance time with Jack, and of course taking care of him, keeping our house somewhat clean, keeping up with laundry, exercising, time with Craig, time with God, blogging, time with friends and family, reading, etc., etc., etc. I wondered if anyone, seriously had any tips that they have found helpful with the keeping house part. I wondered if anyone had some kind of weekly schedule that they have found helpful?!!

Tip Tuesday

I've missed a couple Tip Tuesdays (started by my friend Jody - several friends share their useful tips.) Here are a couple:

Spray tupperware (or any plastic ware) with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato-based sauces -no more stains.

Yogurt is one of the best cleaners for piano keys (unflavored). Rub it on and wipe it dry.

Craig didn't want to be left out and felt he had to contribute. His tip:

"Never kick a fresh turd on a hot day."

There you have it.

You Know You're A Redneck If....

you go out for your anniversary to The Pizza Ranch. This is what Craig was saying as we pulled out of the driveway last Thursday evening for our first date in several months. We left Jack with my Grandma and didn't want to be gone too long and felt like we needed to stay in town. We both like the food there, and so this is where we went. March 22, we celebrated four years together. The time has flown! Craig is a great husband and a great dad! Jack loves him so much and so do I. Happy Anniversary Craig!

Toes

Jack has recently found his toes and loves to play with them on the changing table. It makes changing his diaper a little more challenging.

Reading With Grandma

My Grandma is so much help, and Jack loves her so much! She is more than willing to come stay with Jack while I run errands. Last week Craig and I went out for our anniversary, which was our first night out alone, since Jack was born, and grandma stayed with Jack. I love these pictures of their reading together.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We are late of course (due to blogging issues.) Should I get to put my blog into a scrapbook, I had to have pictures of Jack's 1st St. Patrick's Day.

Eating Solids

Jack seems to be a little behind where other 6 month olds would be. He is five months developmentally if we go by his due date. He can roll over, but seems to be very content to lay on his back and play. He can also play on his tummy and push himself up to look around, but cries when I put him down to play that way. He is sleeping well, and is happy most of the time. One thing he does very well, is eat!!! I haven't found a food yet that he doesn't like. This week as soon as I put him in the high chair, he sits there with his mouth open, waiting, while I prepare his food. Last night he started sticking his tongue out as far as he could while he waited for each bite. It was hilarious!!!

I Can't Believe It!!!!

I held my breath as I logged on today. There it was!!! The toolbar on my blog which would allow me to post! I am so excited!!! I have had blog withdrawl and feel so out of touch with all of my blog friends. (I know that didn't stop me from commenting on your blogs, which I need to do more of now also.) If my blog will stay up and running then I won't switch. That's what I am hoping for. Here are some pictures of what we've been up to lately!

Update

I haven't posted lately because I have been having trouble with blogspot. I don't know if it's them or me. I do have pictures and will have to try to post them tomorrow. Jack has started eating cereal and likes it! He is rolling over, and he is sleeping through the night (for now anyway.) He has just taken off all of a sudden this week. We went shopping with my grandma today and Jack did so well. We are enjoying him so much!!! I promise, pictures soon.

Striving To Be Healthier

This past Saturday, a friend and I went to hear Bob Greene, Orprah's trainer, speak. I have been reading his "Best Life Diet," book. Most of it is common sense, but he also gives some specifics on how to eat better for your activity level. There were so many people and it was difficult to hear him. I talked to him afterward and he was genuinely nice. Seeing him and listening to him, did give me a little more motivation to keep going. That along with this great weather that is coming should keep me going for a while!!!

Tip Tuesday

If I stick with a peanut butter theme....it also works great for getting gum out of hair. (I remember my mom using it in my hair when I was little.) It's also great for getting the sticky residue off of pans, plastics, or leather items after you take off price tags. Peanut butter will also take off the sticky left behind when you pull off a band-aid.

Keeping with the idea of sticking to a budget (peanut butter won't help with this sticking :)....I know, kind of a lame funny,) use the cheapest brand of dishwashing soap available, which we probably do anyway, and add a few Tbs of vinegar to the dishwater. The vinegar will cut the grease and leave the dishes sparkling clean.
