The Gnats...
They are terrible! Jack and I went for a walk this morning. The whole time I was swatting the gnats away from my head, face, out of my ears and even spitting some out of my mouth. The mix of sweat and gnats was so frustrating. They must be worse because of all the rain. I don't remember them being like this before! Yuck!

Visit From Grandma and Grandpa
Grandpa and Grandma Clayton came Friday night and stayed until Saturday afternoon. They came to deliver a hand-me-down entertainment center from my aunt as our old one was falling apart. They also came so that my dad could help Craig with some projects that need to be done around the house. Jack had A LOT of fun with Grandpa!!!

Jack's Room
I have been wanting to add some things to Jack's room. I've just thought the walls needed a little more of something. I love signs with sayings or verses. To match Jack's room, I knew I would have to make them. I'm not good at all at free-handing letters. I found a site on the computer where you can order stencils that really weren't all that expensive. I ordered a couple and finished one this week. I still think the wall needs something else, but I'm not sure what that is.

The other night, Jack didn't seem to have much of an appetite. We thought he was done with supper. When he got down from the high chair, he then climbed up on Craig's chair and ate a hamburger and a hot dog. I guess he just wanted a different seat. He at the hot dog like corn on the cob which was kind of funny.

Swimming
Jack and I made our first trip to the pool for the summer this morning. The aquatic center has infant/toddler swim time once each month in the summer. It was already cooler outside this morning and it has rained a lot so I figured the water would be cold. It was!!! After we walked around for a while, it got a little warmer. Jack wasn't too sure about it at first. He really clung to me. When I would dip his feet in he cried. We sat and watched some of the other kids for awhile and all of a sudden he wanted to take off! He played and played. His teeth were chattering and his lips were turning blue. Every time I would ask if he wanted to go home, he would shake his head no. The last time I asked, he nodded yes, so we changed into dry clothes and came home. He cried when we left. We'll have to go back again soon, and take Daddy with us! ( I did convince him to leave the pacifier and stuffed animals at home.)

Piano Recital 2008
Saturday I had a piano recital at our house. I had planned to have it at the Art Center a few months ago. As we got closer to the date of the recital, several conflicts came up for several students. I had four students that were able to participate. We were able to fit the students and their families into our living room. Just as the last student had played and we were starting to get refreshments, the tornado sirens sounded! Most of the guests, grabbed their cupcakes and headed home. The students did such a great job and I was so proud of them! (That last student there, gave us his own private recital - notice he is playing out of a cookbook that was sitting on the piano :) (I'm not sure why these pictures are so dark)

Our Clean Little Bull
Big Helper
While Craig was landscaping yesterday, Jack helped a lot. Craig has been picking up rocks from under the bushes, putting them in a bucket, and then carrying them to the back yard and putting them around our tree. While he was planting yesterday, Jack was making SEVERAL trips back and forth, picking up rocks from the tree and bringing them to the front yard and throwing them in Craig's bucket. I'm not sure how much was accomplished.
Landscaping
Craig has been busy this week doing some landscaping, just one of the many projects that we wanted to get done so that we could possibly list our house for sale later this summer. Craig's dad and stepmom, offered us some hostas that they were splitting. We are so appreciative of the plants! They really filled some empty spots nicely.
